Acknowledgement of Country

We acknowledge the Traditional Owners, the Bunurong / Boon Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation, on the unceded land and waters we live, work, share and play. We pay our deepest respects to Elders past, present and emerging and extend our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people from all nations of this land. Always was, always will be, Aboriginal land.

Our pledge

Our pledge for reparation to the Bunurong / Boon Wurrung people is to donate a percentage of our accommodation income to indigenous not-for-profit organisations, The Healing Foundation and ANTaR Victoria — as an act of solidarity and a statement of our belief in what our country can be.

By choosing to experience Sault, you are directly contributing to a more inclusive and unified Australia.

Our story

"We wanted Sault to be reminiscent of its past and to carry our memories of summer holidays, so we lived here during the restoration, and the house began to slowly reveal itself to us, like an old friend.”

The creators

Sault is the joyful collaboration of Marc Katsambis and Aaron Zaharias and offers them the perfect opportunity to combine their entrepreneurial spirit and their complementary industry experience with their passion for food, design, restoration, and travel. They know the value of a weekend escape that genuinely delivers on its promise.

Marc, a Product Design leader at Canva, and Aaron, a Workplace Experience leader at Xero, both understand the subtle nuances of crafting beautiful and functional experiences for humans. They appreciate the value of a weekend escape that delivers on its promise to enhance a guest’s wellbeing while setting the stage for making lifelong memories with friends and family. Together they have created a space with enduring and timeless appeal.

Once, not too long ago, Sault was a humble three-bedroom beach house begging for a facelift and a new lease on life. Now, Sault welcomes guests with open arms.

This coastal retreat features a spacious central living space that opens out onto an expansive deck and private landscaped garden. Artwork, ceramics, plants, books and carefully curated details complement the nature-inspired interior.

From the moment you enter the property, it’s clear your ultimate comfort has been carefully considered. Do you want to curl up in a seat by the woodfire heater and get lost in a great book? Or throw open the bifold doors and nap on the outdoor sofa? Congregate around the firepit with a glass of red in hand and watch embers fly up into the night sky or dive into the curated selection of games and classic record collection.
